Breathya – Breathe better with Halotherapy

7/17/2017

The urban people are plagued with so many health issues. Every other family that I know of has an adult or child which is suffering from the following:

  • Allergies
  • Bronchial Infection
  • Asthma
  • Bronchitis
  • Eczema
  • Psoriasis
  • Chronic ENT illness
  • Cold/Flu
  • Dermatitis
  • Ear Infection
  • Sinusitis
  • Stress
  • Fatigue
  • Snoring
Etc… Etc.. the list goes on. If you don’t suffer from any of the above, you are considered quite lucky because your body immunity is really strong, or maybe you just refuse to admit that you suffer from either one of these.

So what happens when you suffer from the above? Do you seek advise from a doctor and get prescribed to tons of medications, antibiotics, steroid creams etc?

Would you be happy to try on a drugless treatment? I was very privileged to be invited to Breathya to learn and try out their treatment for myself, so let me share with you my experience.

Breathya, launched in August 2016, is a respiratory care and wellness centre introduces a revolutionary treatment known as the Halotherapy or Salt Therapy. It uses 100% natural, drugless and risk-free therapy treatment which only requires you to sit in an enclosed salt haven with pharmaceutical graded Himalayan salt crystals and controlled air humidity.

Breathya is owned by Mr Krishna Bagaria who was in an import and export business prior to opening this centre. He had asthma since young and was intrigued by the effectiveness of this treatment when he experienced it for himself in a Europe trip. He then decides to bring this treatment over to Singapore, so that more people can benefit from it.

I love that it has a cozy, clean and very comfortable ambience. It is also very well lit, which means photographs taken around here will turn out great.

As you are not advised to bring your mobile phones, cameras and electronic gadgets in the rooms due to the risk of having your devices trapped with salt particles, they have lockers for you to place your belongings. I like this idea as it allows you to disconnect from your devices and chat with the people around you instead.

Though new in Singapore, the salt treatment is already well recognized in Europe and America since the 18th Century.

Halogenerator, is used in these salt rooms to generate the condition in salt mines and to accelerate the beneficial effects. The salt gets grind into tiny micro particles and dispersed into the salt room producing negative ions which helps to heal the body and promote an overall well being.

Dry salt is anti bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and anti Microbal. It draws out the fluid away from your mucus, shirking and drying it up enabling you to breathe freely. Look at the wall, the ceiling and even the floor, they are covered entirely with salt.

There are salt lamps placed everywhere, which is placed in the salt room too. It looks so cool like I was in some Igloo house or cave but nope, its a salt haven. You can purchase one of these salt lamps if you like too! They are priced $90 – $120.

There is even a room which is specially designed for kids so that they can play with the salt as they enjoy the treatment.

This treatment is suitable for children from as young as 2 months old and for everyone. It last for 45 minutes for children and 60 minutes for adults. Each room can host 6 adults and 2 children comfortably. Currently there is a promotion where its $60 for an adult, and $55 for children. Consultation is free.

Although we were in there for only about 30 minutes for the trial, we could feel the salt particles all around us, even on our skin and clothing. Even as we speak, we could taste the salt. It was very interesting and relaxing to be chatting with friends while enjoying such a unique experience in relaxing music with such a cozy ambience.

Don’t mind my wrong outfit here as I don’t have any warning beforehand

Tip: To fully enjoy the salt haven, wear white or light coloured clothing. You should totally come in your bikini (if you are not sharing room with others), or come in t-shirt and shorts to enjoy having the salt particles fall all over you. My skin feels so smooth after the treatment.

The staff were complimenting me on how much my skin had improved (fairer after the treatment), but I told them that was because there were salt particles left on my skin!

I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have experienced this and how relaxed I felt when I was in the room. After coming out from the room, I felt I could breathe better and my nose was all cleared. That night, I slept well too. I didn’t see any improvements on my face eczema though. You are recommended to continue the treatment for 4 – 25 treatment before you will see actual results but don’t worry, they have packages so it will be less hefty on your pockets.

Everyone should try this for themselves for at least once, be it to experience the salt haven, to take it as a relax trip or just to enjoy the beautiful room. Pamper yourself today and see salt in a different way!
